Verwacht uw kat kittens dit jaar? Neem dan
deel aan dit interessante onderzoek van Rachel King in
samenwerking met de Lincoln universiteit naar de ontwikkeling
van kittens.
New study – kitten development by Rachel King
at the Wood Green Animal Shelter who is undertaking her PhD in Kitten
Development
Having
kittens? New study on kitten development.
Are
you planning on breeding your Queen this year and can give a few
minutes of time to help a new study on cat behavior and
development?
The
study is being conducted by the University of Lincoln, in
conjunction with Wood Green Animal Shelters.
Scientists need owners who have or are likely to have a pregnant
Queen to take part in a study to record kitten development.
Rachael King, deputy manager of the feline section at Wood Green
says “Kitten development has previously been investigated,
however more detailed and relevant information is needed to
allow us to understand the mechanisms underlying behavior.”
“We
are looking for people who are intending to breed from their
Queen over the next year – the Queen doesn’t need to be a
specific breed”
“Once
the Queen has given birth to her kittens we would like owners to
record the kittens’ development on a simple chart as they grow –
it really will only take a few minutes each day. Where possible
we would then like to follow some of the kittens throughout
their first year of life. The information you provide really
will help.”
If you
would like to take part in the study then please contact Rachael
King at Wood Green Animal Shelters on 0844 248 81 81 ext 1305 or
